Summer Versus Winter
The season makes a real difference in your evening plans:
- In summer, sunsets come late, so cruises often depart around 6:00 to 6:15 and you return well after dark.
- In winter, the sun sets earlier, so departures move up to around 5:00 to 5:30.
- Spring and fall sit comfortably in between.

The departure time is not the arrival time. Boats leave on schedule, and latecomers can miss the sailing with no refund. Friday Fireworks Run Later
Friday nights are special in Waikiki because of the weekly fireworks show near the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Fireworks cruises stay out a bit longer so you catch both the sunset and the show, which usually starts around 7:45 in the evening. If fireworks are on your list, plan for a later finish than a standard sunset sail.
